

What is a Sports Massage & how does it work?
General Maintenance sports massage is designed to help you maintain your overall well-being & levels of activity. Aimed towards those who are active, play sports or are exposed to discomfort via regular working conditions. Our skilled therapists will provide you with massages that target specific areas of tension, discomfort and pain. It will leave you feeling refreshed & ready to take on the day. Recommend once every 4-6 weeks to stay on top of tightness that inevitably comes with being active.
It is designed to help you understand your body better & get to the root cause of a particular issue you may have. If you’re always tight down one side, have a chronic shoulder issue, keep getting the same injury all the time etc etc, then this treatment is for you.
The session is split into two potential parts:
1 - We treat the immediate discomfort:
We will treat the pain or discomfort you have during the session using sports massage or dry needling, depending on your preference and the needs presented to us.
Then, if we need to:
2 - We assess:
• Muscle tightness and range of motion
• Your ability to absorb external force
• Movement & strength
• Force production
• Stress factors
• Mobility
• Injury history
We then put together a plan for you going forward, that will involve some exercises & movement patterns to help you get back to your better self.
